Blog Profit in March 2022 ($1,336.25)

This month was super interesting as Saved By The Cent’s revenue fell, but my costs also fell, so my overall profit increased. The reason my costs fell was because I was not spending nearly as much on advertising. I also decided to just use one writer from Fiverr that I have a strong relationship with. Basically, I decided to increase his pay and focus on longer articles that will hopefully have a strong chance of ranking on Google.

Also, I am realizing that I am hugely passionate about sharing how to start a money making blog (especially as an alternative to an MLM), so I just updated this article how to get started making a profitable blog). If you do start a blog, please reach out as I’d love to provide pointers and things to avoid (that I did).

Without further ado, here are the numbers.

Profit increased M | M, but revenue fell.

Highs

Here are the highs from this month.

Guest Posting Picking Up

I believe this month produced the highest ever in revenue from publishing fees. I am definitely excited to see that option producing results as it was the first way that I actually made money from this blog.

Also, I am starting to get some really solid content. I am liking this article covering games for 5 year olds as I have a 5 year old myself.

New Guest Posting Platform

I joined a new guest posting platform, and already have around $120 in potential revenue for April. I am looking forward to seeing how it progresses.

Lows

Here are the lows from this month.

Amazon Affiliates

Amazon affiliates still does not produce almost any revenue, even with this article ranking almost #3 on Google search for a good term. I knew books were going to be a low paying term, but this low paying?

$10 isn’t going to pay many bills

Affiliates in general

I wasn’t super excited about the affiliates payouts this month. I made some core changes to my affiliate strategy this month, so hopefully I will see that picking up in the coming months.
