I was impressed that this month ended so well. The advertising costs increased, but the profit also increased substantially. Here are the numbers:

Month 2 Blog Profit Breakdown
Best month yet. Woot!

Also, I am realizing that you may also be interested making money from blogging, so I put together this guide to show how to get started blogging for money.

I brought on a new writer this month to try to get into a consistent schedule. I am also really trying to get better at Amazon Affiliates (see low below), so the new writer is going to be focused on writing articles that hopefully rank on Google and can provide some affiliate revenue. We will see if it pays off, but the price per 100 words is pretty good. I’ll keep you in the loop on how it goes.

Highs

Here are the two biggest highs from January 2022.

1. Biggest Affiliate Delivers

My biggest affiliate accounted for 87% of the revenues from January, 2022. In my opinion, it’s great to find an affiliate that works out really well, but it’s also a bit nerve-wracking to have that much of my revenue tied to one affiliate.

2. $5 Per Click Affiliate

I prefer affiliates that pay per conversion or pay per lead, but I am excited to test a $5 Pay Per Click Affiliate. You still have to produce, but it will be interesting to test this option against other options.

Lows

Here are the two biggest lows from this month.

1. Amazon Affiliates

Amazon Affiliates still seems to be a tricky one. I have mainly focused on personal finance books with Amazon affiliates, but it really hasn’t been awesome. I guess the $.61 I received last month is better than $.58 from the previous month. That said, $.61 won’t pay any bills. I’ll try a few new things this month, so stay tuned.

Amazon Affiliates still a low point.

2. Potentially break even or losing money on one affiliate

I was really excited about one affiliate this past month, so I ran an ads campaign to boost traffic to my site. I can explain what I look for in another article, but this affiliate is really popular, so I thought it would be a winner.

Wrong, I believe I spent around $325.89 in Ads, and I may have gotten slightly over $300 or $400. So, it’s questionable whether it’s worth the time going forward.

Any Questions?

The purpose of these articles is to share my profit journey from Saved By The Cents. It hasn’t always been smooth skies, but it’s been quite fun overall!

Can I answer any questions for you?
